On an ordinary day, while observing her father brewing coffee, this little girl, Lily decided to put a glass ball into the coffee dripper and say: “It will make a better coffee!”

2 months later, with lots of experiment and brewing, Lilydrip was invented. Inventions usually arise from peculiar ideas, our love and curiosity about life.

Lilydrip is a ceramic add-on for your pour over coffee. It can be used in most cone shape dripper such as Hario V60, Kadou M1, Origami etc. Lilydrip also comes in different design to achieve different flowrate. Lilydrip is designed to reduce the depth of the coffee grounds hence reducing over-extracting the grounds in the middle, keeping your grounds in the “sweet zone”, which is the depth that leads to the best flavour and extraction. It also help creating a more even brew. By reducing the depth of the ground, the water can flow through the grounds more quickly. And with the better extraction mentioned earlier, the brew can be a bit more forgiving with your grind setting.

With Lilydrip as the base design, Lilydrip has evolved into different designs to achieve from slow flowrate to fast flowrate. With COS the slowest, you can slow down your brew for higher extraction. Sakura has faster flowrate than COS with addition 10 grooves with different length around it. Starflower has faster flowrate than Sakura with its 7 same length groove. Donut provide even faster flowrate with 8 ribs (not groove). And lastly the GIO, fastest among all the other version, GIO has 8 ribs on the top and 8 grooves at the bottom, this has been designed for competition purpose to allow the contestant to be able to control the extraction more easily.

Lilydrip has also involved in numerous competitions such as the World Brewers Cup and Café de Columbia. Contestant from China, Indonesia, Iran and France have used Lilydrip part of their brewing equipment during the competition and have won medals with it.
